From 1 January 2027, we will officially operate under the name Movares. For you, very little will change: you'll continue working with the same familiar faces and can still rely on our trusted expertise in energy.
The energy transition is constantly evolving. Projects are becoming larger, challenges increasingly involve multiple disciplines, and finding the right solutions requires specialists from different fields to work together. Ekwadraat wants to keep pace with these developments.
Since October 2025, Ekwadraat has been part of Movares. This brings together our specialist energy expertise with the knowledge and resources of a broader engineering and consultancy organisation.
It allows us to build on everything Ekwadraat has achieved over the years while bringing additional expertise to larger and more complex projects.
Movares is a nationwide engineering and consultancy firm in the Netherlands, working on major societal and spatial challenges. The organisation brings together a wide range of disciplines, including energy, buildings, rail, infrastructure, water, planning and project preparation.
Creating the greatest possible value for society is at the heart of Movares' mission. By connecting people, technology and data, Movares develops smart, sustainable and practical solutions to complex challenges in our living environment.
From 1 January 2027, Ekwadraat will no longer operate as a separate brand, and all our communications will be under the Movares name. You'll see this reflected in our email addresses, communications, documents, website and other materials.
Until then, we will communicate as Ekwadraat | a Movares company. We will inform you in good time about any practical changes, such as new contact details or administrative information. We will also keep this page updated throughout the transition.
A new name doesn't mean everything will suddenly change. The people you know, our expertise in the energy transition and our commitment to projects will remain at the heart of everything we do.
Our way of working together will also remain familiar: strong technical expertise, a practical approach and direct communication. Ongoing projects will continue as usual, and you'll stay in touch with the people who know your organisation and understand your challenges. Everything that has made Ekwadraat what it is today will become part of Movares.
Think, for example, of projects that require engineering, spatial planning or technical development alongside energy consultancy. For you, this means we can support more stages of a project and bring in the right specialists more easily when needed.

Will I keep the same contact person?
For existing projects, your current contact person will generally remain your main point of contact. If this changes for your project, we will let you know directly.
Will your email addresses change?
Yes. From 1 January, we will communicate using Movares email addresses ending in @movares.nl. We will share the new contact details in good time so you know how to reach us.
Will your phone numbers change?
Personal mobile numbers will remain the same. Whether our main office number will change has not yet been confirmed. If our 088 number changes, we will communicate this in good time and update this page.
What happens to ongoing projects and agreements?
They will continue as usual. The transition to Movares does not mean that projects will need to restart or that existing agreements will simply change. If any administrative or contractual adjustments are required for your project, we will contact you directly.
What happens to outstanding quotations?
Around the turn of the year, we will switch from Ekwadraat documents to Movares documents. If an outstanding quotation needs to be reissued or updated as a result, we will contact you.
Will your Chamber of Commerce registration number, VAT number or bank details change?
Not all administrative details for the new situation have been finalised yet. If any of these details change, we will update this page and directly inform clients and partners who need to update their records.
Do I need to update anything in my administration?
For now, you don't need to do anything. If our company details, payment information or other relevant administrative details change, we will let you know in good time.
Will your services change?
The energy expertise and services you know from Ekwadraat will remain available. As part of Movares, we can also draw on expertise from a wider range of disciplines. This makes it easier to involve additional specialists in more complex projects.
What additional benefits does Movares offer me as a client?
Above all, more possibilities within one organisation. For complex projects, we can bring in specialists from other disciplines more easily. This allows us to handle a greater part of your project together, reducing the need for you to coordinate multiple external parties.
When will the Ekwadraat name stop being used?
From 1 January 2027, we will operate entirely under the Movares name. In the months leading up to this date, we will gradually phase out the Ekwadraat name and make the transition to Movares increasingly visible.
Who can I contact from January onwards?
You can continue contacting your usual point of contact. From January, our communications and services will be provided under the Movares name. You can also find the latest contact details on this page.
