Since 2019 our team works from this unique circular building. The Energy knowledge center ('Energie Kenniscentrum') Leeuwarden. Our head office is located on this old trash dump on the Energy Campus Leeuwarden, where the energy produced from the gas released by the trash is used to power our local ice skating ring: the 'Elfstedenhal'.

6 maanden geleden begon ik als senior in dienst bij adviesbureau Ekwadraat. Ik ging niet over één nacht ijs. Na 5 jaar als ZZP’er, een flinke dosis werkervaring en van nature een beetje dwars vroeg ik me wel af of ik nog baas-proef was. Na een aantal gesprekken was ik overtuigd. Ekwadraat is een adviesbureau dat de energietransitie wil versnellen, praktisch is en veel kennis in huis heeft door de grote diversiteit aan projecten. Daar kan ik mij wel in vinden!
Tijdens de stage heb ik onderzoek gedaan naar de temperatuur van oppervlaktewater voor het uitvoeren van potentie berekeningen van aquathermie. Voor mijn afstudeeropdracht gaf ik hier een vervolg aan bij Ekwadraat door een duurzaam warmteleveringssysteem te ontwerpen voor een woonwijk met thermische energie uit oppervlaktewater als bron. Na het afronden van de opleiding ben ik in de functie van trainee verdergegaan bij Ekwadraat.
